"Nanda Collection World Tour 2014"
Sound Academy, Toronto, ON
So glad that Friday's I get to leave work early, headed on the transit to the venue, met a few people also going to the concert along the way. Arrived about 5:30pm, lineup wasn't too long by that time, which is great, I'll be able to get closer to the stage! Overheard a conversation in front of me, they came all the way from Montreal!
Once inside to defrost my toes, found a place on stage right, about four rows back, give or take a few bodies. A repeating tune of xylophone and chimes to give anticipation to the tightly pack crowd. Start to notice a slowly creeping fog make it's way across the stage, then four very colourful support dancers make their appearance. Unfortunately I was so packed in that I didn't have room to dance or even do the hand dances. Cheers erupted once Kyary Pamyu Pamyu stepped into view, she is so kawaii that I couldn't believe my eyes. Her dancers are so expressive and their choreography was so amazing that I'm not even 1/4 of what they are. I bow down to them!!
Before the third song, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu talked for a little bit in english, mentioned this was her second world tour and her first time in Canada. Yesterday she went to Niagara Falls and thought it was so beautiful. Then we were taught the hand gestures for the song にんじゃりばんばん (Ninja Re Bang Bang). After a number of enthralling songs, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu went off stage to change while we were entertained by a most unusual character, a rather large blue rabbit in red shorts.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu next outfit was very cute, still no room for me to join in with all the dancing, so I bobbed my head the best I could. Finally outfit/costume for the night, had a very fuzzy pink rabbit lead us in a clapping frenzy, calling out her name to usher Kyary Pamyu Pamyu back to do some more songs for us and we weren't disappointed. My favourite outfit of the night, pink and green curved line patterned dress with a beautiful large pink bow. I was delighted when the second last song was Pon Pon Pon! This time I danced so, I hope the people around me please excuse me for bumping into them! Last song was Fashion Monster. She waved goodbye to us before going backstage.
The crowd, started chanting her name, Kyary Kyary Kyary Kyary Kyary Kyary!!! They wanted her back, it was too early for the night to end! Crowed roared again, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu came back, blue tour t-shirt and a pink rabbit head piece, took a picture with us and then performed two last songs. She thanked everyone for coming out to see her, waved a finally goodbye to us and headed off stage. Overall I had a great time, despite being squished..
