While China is targeting South Korea raising havoc among K-Pop fans and music industry moguls, some interesting observations have come to light. While browsing through CDJapan the same message appears on the new releases lists from recently added artists in Japan which set off a red flag.
"NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN THE CHINA MAINLAND REGION".
Are we to see a new ban for Japanese artists, music, anime and manga, concerts, J-Drama's? It looks like we are heading that way. If you are not familiar with China's ban on many artistic fronts there actually is a whole wiki page describing all the sorted details which you can read further here and also a list of banned websites here including Google, Yahoo Japan, New York Times and the list goes on.
Since China seems to be in the habit of banning country's when they don't agree with their missile launching's and blatant disregard for NATO or any other global organization for peace, I think a global stance needs to be made. Most of Japan, America and so many other countries products are made in China, we should pull the plug on all of it and stop all production, cancel contracts and be done with them. China's economic system would crumble, the biggest stock market crash and fastest depression on record for the world would be eminent.
CHINA FOLLOWS NO ONES RULES
BUT EXPECTS YOU TO FOLLOW THEIRS
And on a very personal note, that missile that flew over our heads in northern Japan several months ago, I'm not saying it was China but it came from that direction. In keeping positive I was happy to see it land in the Pacific Ocean. Could have been a another country close to our shores, maybe, but when ya weigh the odds....and ya watch the news about China's failed missile launch and it's on the same day... add it up yourself....whomever, CUT IT OUT!!
FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION
Freedom of expression through music which has no language barrier and no borders that lets us peak in to a different culture and way of life than our own is educating. The same goes for dramas, variety shows and talent competitions. I have learned so much about countries I had never heard of before this way and has enriched not only my life but my children's.
Censorship
Hearing a curse word, seeing seductive video's, hearing the 'N" word, seeing naked art sculptures, violent acts and aggressive behavior did not make me in to an adult who has any type of emotional scaring nor my children who grew up with anime and manga, Visual Kei, K-Pop and video games who were enlightened through different cultures because of the exposure. Yes, sometimes I was a little like, hmmmm is this age appropriate? But I wanted the experiences to produce well rounded individuals who saw life outside the box and censoring their creativity by sitting them down to explain why they should not watch this, say that, do this, at every turn was not the path I wanted to choose so I did have to pick and choose a few battles but they made their own decisions of what they thought was appropriate for their ages at the time and did not hide those things or slam down the lap top every time I walked in to the room. Communication leaves the door open and the laptop too!
My decision was to not make a big deal out of what I have mentioned because if you do, it does cause problems with their morals and behavior as they get older. I'm not a mental health professional just a mom who raised some amazingly talented kids who went to college and graduated , bi-lingual with great jobs, world travelers and in healthy relationships. What parent could ask for more!
When you sensor a whole nation giving no choices in their one and only life to live on this planet by dictating what they can be exposed to and what they cannot is sheltering them from the outside world. Rebellion will rear it's ugly head sooner or later. What group of citizens in this day and time as we have evolved as human beings would want their country to be so isolated from reality?? It makes no sense to me.
CHINA YOU DON'T WANT OUR MONEY?
Financially speaking, China is taking a huge hit right now with the latest ban on K-Pop. This will put a dent in their wallets, how can it not? So many high budget films are shot in China from Japan, America and Korea and other countries leading to huge arena concerts bringing in millions of dollars and increasing the tourism to an all time high with the largest music award ceremonies in the world with attendees globally spending millions bringing their artists to the country and accommodating which has led to the highest sales of Korean, Japanese and American music on the planet. Not to mention the loss of income for Artists!

Concerts, fan meetings, drama's, radio, anime and manga,
film, done, no more!
Below are some examples of China's banning farces. Tell me your thoughts in the comments below!
Lady Gaga is no longer allowed on television, radio or available for online downloads in China (at least legally), says China’s State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television. The ban came after she had met with the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader to discuss “the power of kindness and how to make the world a more compassionate place.” Gaga previously had her music censored in the country for "damaging the nation's cultural security."
In 2015 he Chinese Ministry of Culture has banned 38 Japanese anime and manga titles, including: Attack on Titan, Death Note, Parasyte and more, from online or print distribution in China.
Senior Ministry official Liu Qiang stated, "The list is the result of evaluations by investigators, reviews by the ministry and the opinions of experts. It aims to guide websites in the proper review and importation of comics and animations."The titles have been banned because, according to officials, they "include scenes of violence, pornography, terrorism and crimes against public morality" that could potentially incite minors to commit such acts.
The new regulations will require Chinese website proprietors to seek approval before they stream foreign media. Websites hosting the blacklisted content were/will be put under investigation.
The current list of blacklisted titles include:
Terror in Resonance

China says NO to hallyu (kpop) and anything Korean-related.
Many Korean music artists, groups, and actors often travel to China. The reason? The country is arguably one of Korea’s most profitable entertainment markets. However, these music artists aren’t immune to the worsening crisis between China and South Korea.China has prohibited all hallyu, or Korean Wave (K-pop), content in the country. Furthermore, Korean stars can no longer star in any Chinese television show. Why? The Chinese government is retaliating against the South Korean government. South Korea made the decision to deploy the THAAD American missile defense system in the country. According to the South China Morning Post,
“A Chinese entertainment corporation has been reportedly fined 17 million won (US$14,460) for pushing ahead with a Korean idol group concert that had not been approved by the Chinese government, and it was ordered to refund ticket buyers double the original ticket price. The entertainment company invited the Korean group and began selling tickets a month before the concert but the Chinese government refused to confirm the show.”
In addition, the Chinese government didn’t approve a new Korean drama series. Furthermore, the government replaced or edited out Korean celebrities in Chinese advertisements. The ban includes any show starring, funded, affiliated, or produced by Korean companies. Korean talent agencies YG Entertainment, SM Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment are losing revenue.
